Mmmmmm...Game Day: Vintage
Game Days have become a bit of a tradition here. Myself and a bunch of other friends, some of whom I hang out with a lot, and others hardly at all, are interested in...you guessed it. Video games. Because of this, we decided one day to head down to the local LAN "café", Adrenalan, and play around. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun, and now, it has almost become a tradition. We haven't had a Game Day yet this summer, so I called up Nick Kennedy and we planned one for today. The problem is though, no one else can do it. So, we decided to wait until some other day to go to Adrenalan, and in the meantime, have a Game Day: Vintage, chez moi.
I recently set up a mini-network between this computer and a poopy old Windows NT computer from Dad's office so me and FX could play some Command and Conquer: Tiberian Sun. It turns out Nick has a huge collection of pre-millenium games, such as Warcraft II, the original Command and Conquer, and Starcraft, just to name a few. Geeky? Hell yes.
So...I'm curious...who else does this kind of thing appeal to?

Do you even have to ask? ;)
You know, you remind of the good old days when we used to play Command and Conquer Red Alert over, yes, DIAL UP. Now those were the days. Nowadays, I complain and whine if my ping is more that 100ms in UT. I wonder what it was like back then... 1 second?
Have fun. :)

It probably would have appealed say 10 - 12 years ago, when these "vintage" games were new...these days, other than the occasional game of THHGTTG or King's Quest or Hero's Quest (for old time's sake)it probably wouldn't appeal to me as much. I guess we all grow up at some time..........unfotunate as it may be.
